A lot of shade has been thrown around Hollywood this summer, and it seems that Calvin Harris and Zayn Malik are the latest to make the list.

According to Time Magazine, the rift started when Malik retweeted from the account of @FemaleTexts a tweet that compared Taylor Swift negatively to Miley Cyrus.

The original post compared Swift's high-profile decision to take her music off Spotify, where artists earn a fraction of a penny per song play.

Miley has commented that she already has so much that she doesn't really care about album sales.

The retweet made Harris furious in behalf of his girlfriend, and responded with a direct tag to the former One Direction member: "You've made your money? Cool...fuck the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? Yeah fuck em."

Harris didn't stop there, however, and in a series of tweets (sans tags) said, 'If you don't get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry... then stay out of my f***ing mentions.'

He went on, "While u kids are refresh voting teen choice awards there's some poor f***er in a basement making your new favorite record trying to survive. Meaning... stay out of things you don't understand."

Of course, this did not sit well with Malik either, and he hit back with his own series of tweets to Harris.

Malik started with, "ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate."

He also noted that the statement was general and not specifically aimed at Swift.

He added, "you clearly don't understand what I just said either. So I suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out."

Harris later attempted to end the ugly exchange by telling Malik it was nothing personal, but not before the former 1D member hit with, "Oh and I write my own s*** d***head".

The Daily Mail said that Malik's diss may also be directed to his ex-fiancee, Perrie Edwards, whose girl group, Little Mix performed with Taylor in Santa Clara on Saturday.

He made a dig at the group on the same day, asking fans to compare Little Mix's "Black Magic" with their rival Fifth Harmony's "Worth It."

@FemaleTexts ended up deleting the original tweet, which according to The Daily Beast served as the Twitter-war's first step toward healing.

What did you think about this latest Hollywood beef?
