The coming of the Windows 10 in mobile has sparked rumors that Microsoft will be making available to the users a Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL as its flagship units and not a Lumia 940 and 940 XL.

According to Windows Central, Microsoft executive vice president of the Windows and Devices Group, Terry Myerson, has revealed during the Worldwide Partner Conference last week that new handsets will be available soon.

"Last week we announced a focusing on our Lumia lineup, but let me be clear: soon you will see premium new Lumias designed for Windows 10," Myerson said during the keynote address.

Earlier, in an exclusive interview with ZDNet, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that Microsoft will stay in the mobile market despite rumors that they will only be releasing a last set of phones this year.

But whether the release will be a 940 or a skip to a 950, Windows and Microsoft fans are eager to know how these two phones will fair against each other.

Below is a comparison of their specifications and features:

The Lumia 940 is rumored to have 5.2-inch Quad HD display, according to the International Business Times.

A 64-bit hexacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor will also reportedly run the Lumia 940, which are the same exact specifications for the Lumia 950, with the latter having Adreno 418 graphics. TechAeris said the 950 may have 3GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 32GB with additional storage options through its micro SD slot.

As for the camera, the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 950 are also believed to feature a 20MP PureView main camera and 5MP front-facing shooter that's best for selfies and video conversations.

The Lumia 940 handset is also claimed to cost higher than its predecessor, which was pegged at $736, while there is still no expected price tag for the Lumia 950.

For the Lumia 950, the International Business Times noted that the device will surely come with a Windows 10 Mobile OS which will arrive within the year.
