"I lit my universe on fire and I watched it burn."

These were the words uttered by "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart during her Marie Claire interview for the August cover.

Speaking of "Twilight," you'd think that she's grateful for the spark that the box office saga has set to her name, but she admitted to her most popular role being the roughest one on her, telling the magazine, "f*** it all!"

She added, ""it was a really traumatic period in my early 20s that kick-started something in me that was a bit more feral."

Kristen then spoke about being constantly anxious when she was younger, pointing out that between the ages of 15 and 20 were really intense for her.

It took a very public split with her long-time boyfriend and "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson in the wake of a scandal between herself and "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders for her to finally deal with her celebrity status.

Stewart shared her feelings about not falling into the celeb abyss, saying "I'm really proud that I am able to move forward and not fall into every mental crater. That's a new thing for me. Age has made me smarter and calmer."

That came with a smarter, shorter hairstyle as well.

She said of her new look, "As soon as I didn't have all that hair, I had to let my face hang out. I felt more confident than I had in a really long time. And it felt really good. Maybe to most people long hair is prettier. But then what? Is your main goal in life to be desired? That is boring as f--k."

Post-"Twilight" and post-scandal, US Magazine reported that Stewart is now filming a military film with Ang Lee, called "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk."

Despite her star status, Stewart has always been outspoken about the unhealthiness of Hollywood, saying that fame is "the worst thing in the world" in a recent interview with People Magazine.

However, it doesn't seem like her star will burn out soon.

Three years after Pattinson and her scandal, things are still looking up for the 25-year-old and she's not apologizing for it either. She told Marie Claire, "Lately, I've been doing less of the 'I'm sooooo sorry.' And more of the 'No. F***. Jesus.'"

Check out Kristen's Marie Claire cover for August, which will be on newsstands on July 21.
