Donald Trump's offensive remarks against Mexican immigrants have drawn the ire of Latinos. In his speech held last week, the Presidential candidate said that Mexico was "not sending its brightest minds to the U.S.," instead the country was illegally sending drugs, crime, and rapists across the border illegally, Fox News Latino reported.

The 69-year-old businessman insisted that he will build a wall between Mexico and the U.S. and that "nobody comes in illegally" to the U.S. anymore, adding that he would make Mexico pay for ripping the country off.

One of the repercussions of his remarks is Univision ending their business deal with the Miss Universe organization, which was partly owned by Trump. The American Spanish language TV network said that it will no longer work with projects that are connected to the Trump Organization, NBC News reported. The Miss USA pageant, which was supposed to air on Univision on July 12, will no longer be in the network's broadcasting schedule.

Puerto Rican "Devious Maids" actress Roselyn Sanchez and Chilean actor Cristian de la Fuente are also pulling out of the Miss USA pageant as its hosts.

"It's a shame that such an important institution as Miss USA is now in the hands of a clown," de la Fuente said, as quoted by Hollywood Life. Sanchez said that upon hearing Trump's racist remarks, she felt "a lump" in her stomach, the news outlet added.

J Balvin, who was set to perform in the Miss USA pageant before backing out as well, also has some thoughts about the controversy surrounding Trump.

"It was going to be my first performance on national [mainstream] television," the Colombian reggaeton singer told Billboard. "But we're talking about our roots, our culture, our values. T his isn't about being punitive, but about showing leadership through social responsibility. His comments weren't just about Mexicans, but about all Latinos in general."

Balvin said that Mexico is "a Latin powerhouse" and Mexicans are known as hard workers, Billboard reported. Balvin said that Trump's comment is "powerful" and that he usually avoids political commentary, but this time, the singer feels "totally comfortable and responsible" with his decision.

In addition, comedic actor Rob Schneider tweeted: "Dear Donald Trump, my daughter is half Mexican. It seems like her only "problem" is that she speaks 2 languages and she's not even 3!"

Other celebrities who have criticized the business tycoon's comments are Mexican actress Carmen Salinas, Maná's lead singer Fher Olvera, and Lupita Nyong'o. Olvera described Trump as someone with "full of hate in his heart," Latin Times quoted.

Univision's news anchor, Jorge Ramos, wrote an op-ed in Spanish published both on Univision and on his blog. He said that Trump is a hypocrite, given that the businessman employs Hispanic workers in his hotel chains.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said in an interview with KNPB that Trump's statements were "not acceptable" and that "decent people should stand up against it," Politico reported.
