Jon Snow is dead, or so says Kit Harington.

One thing is for sure, though, the actor said that he will not be returning in the next season of HBO's hit series, "Game of Thrones," which is probably the reason why he took on another project so soon.

This time, it seems that he's going to switch gears from being a television star to a movie hunk. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harington was cast as Samuel in a thriller called "Brimstone," replacing "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson for the role.

The project sees Harington alongside Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, and GOT co-star Carice Van Houten (Melisandre). Variety reported that Fanning will star as Liz, the heroine of the film who is on the run from her past and is being chased by the diabolical Preacher, to be played by Pearce.

Written and directed by Martin Koolhoven ("Winter in Wartime"), the film was described to be "a vivid and powerful epic of one woman's defiant resistance."

Holland's N279 Entertainment Els Vandervost will produce, along with Uwe Schott of X-Fime, Antonino Lombardo of Prime Time (Belgium), Peter Hitunen of Dragon Films (Sweden) and Manuel Chiche and Violaine Barbaroux from The Jokers Films (France).

Of course, considering that Van Houten's character is very much alive in the last season of "Game of Thrones" and is doing the film alongside Harington, there is a possibility that Jon Snow may not actually be dead in the series, either.

Fans of the series are adamant about keeping Harington's character alive. Vanity Fair even gave a few reasons that add to the "Jon Snow Lives" conspiracy. First is the fact that Harington was absent at the Comic Con panel. Why is this questioned? GOT has had a tradition of freshly dead characters appearing on the panel: this included Rose Leslie and Pedro Pascal in 2014, after their characters died, and Jason Momoa in 2013, when Khal was long gone.

Second is the "Beautiful Death" posted that showcases the most iconic deaths in the GOT realm. For season 5, it was Stannis Baratheon's (which we didn't even actually see) as opposed to the more traumatic one for Jon Snow.

Third, the choice of words, because Kit Harington said he will not be returning for the next season, but did not say anything about the one after that...

What do you think is next for Harington and Jon Snow?
