Set to be released this coming September on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, the "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" seems to be a really promising game based on the details dished about the game during last week's E3.

Prior to the game's arrival, here are the things that fans need to know to prepare them for its promised features and developments:

An Open-World Game

Polygon said that Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima explained that the game will be "open-world" in the sense that it is full of open terrain, "vastly more open than any of the previous installments."

With this feature, it was reported that players will have a whole new experience of figuring out what to do in case they got stuck in a dusty Afghan setting since previous games only had room setting where users can just use their radars to know about their surroundings.

"[Here], the only way to know what's around you is by figuring it out yourself. This is a whole new way to play Metal Gear. Forget radar. It's your job to take the high ground, scope out and mark enemies, call for support with a single button tap to learn more about what you're looking at," explained Polygon.

Microtransactions

According to BidnessEtc, the upcoming "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" may have microtransactions but users have expressed their concerns since some claimed that they have to purchase things which they could just get through cheat codes. The "pay to win" method of the game reportedly defeats its purpose.

To defend itself, Konami said that this was done to give gamers easy access especially those who may not have time to unlock elements during the game.

Game offers plenty of options

In a similar report, TechnoBuffalo detailed that gamers will have a number of options, like choosing their companions, vehicles and weapons. The report explained that the game will also allow users to do sub-missions, mark enemies and find a high place where they can study their surroundings.

Great gaming experience

After playing the game for an hour, Polygon said that it was worth the time. "'The Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain' is off to a strong start. It's shaping up to be one hell of a ride," the report added.

Even though it will still take a few months for the game to be out, it already has a prologue chapter called "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes." GeekSnack said it is now available in all regions on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 which will give rabid fans a taste of what Kojima and his team have in store for you in Phantom Pain.
