"Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to be announced really soon as a recent report indicated a survey which included the said game.

According to Nerd Reactor, video game developer and publisher Ubisoft conducted the survey which asked the gamers about their most anticipated games which included "Batman: Arkham Knight," "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," "Dead Island 2," "Halo 5: Guardians," "Just Cause 3," "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," "Mortal Combat X," "Rise of the Tomb Raider" and "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," among others.

The site also noted that rumors of the release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" on PS4 and Xbox One have long circulated online though game developer Rockstar Games has not yet released any information on the said game.

A recent Express report added that it appears that the survey only listed the most popular games based on rumoured titles then asked the public to respond.

Two months ago, Nerd Reactor said that a user on Reddit, who claimed to be an ex-member of the game's development team, revealed that it will carry the title "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West."

"The leak suggested that the new game is actually a prequel and will include some few familiar faces in the game's story like John Marston and Bonny McFarlane," added the same report.

There will also reportedly be three main characters of the game namely Irish, a migrant from Ireland; bank teller Seth from Kansas City and the third one is not yet identified though Nerd Reactor said it will be a "completely customizable" player.

In a separate report, Express said Rockstar is planning to reveal "a new open-world project this year which will feature revamped multiplayer integration."

Express also added that the game is likely to come out really soon because Rockstar San Diego released new job listings hinting that they are working on the upcoming game.

"The Studio is currently looking for a networking programmer who specializes in a wide range of gameplay mechanics found in a Rockstar open world game," Express reported, adding that the potential candidate may be tasked to work on the integration of the dynamic multiplayer in the areas of the gameplay.

In an earlier statement, Rockstar clarified that they are not rushing to release the game which has become extremely famous among gamers.

"It's wonderful to see so much excitement and enthusiasm for the 'Red Dead' series, and nearly 5 years after Red Dead Redemption's release. As we've mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as 'Red Dead Redemption,' 'Bully' and 'L.A. Noire,' we don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually," the statement further read.

Meanwhile, Rockstar CEO Strauss Zelnick assured gamers in 2014 that the company is considering "Red Dead" as a permanent franchise.

"The risk of just [releasing more games] is that you end up just bulking up your release schedule and that isn't really what consumers want. Consumers want better, not more," Zelnick said, as quoted by GameSpot.
