After Bruce Jenner appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair as a woman with the new name Caitlyn, she has drawn various reaction from the public and even prompted some places to consider renaming the streets named after the former Olympian.

Time reports a group of kids who were shown photos of Jenner when he was a kid and now as Caitlyn were "refreshingly honest and supportive" of her transformation.

In discussing Jenner's transition into a woman, the kids were reportedly confused at first, but they ended up being empathetic to her. "Who she wants to be is who she should be," a girl said.

Another one commented: "It's important for you to be yourself, because if you're not yourself, who are you?"

It seems like Jenner's decision is well supported by the younger generation though some still raised their eyebrows on her transformation.

Jenner is set to be awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award in light of her gender transition, as per Daily Mail.

She will deliver her acceptance speech at the Los Angeles awards ceremony this coming July 15 which will also be her first public appearance after the much talked about transition. According to Daily Mail, Jenner will accept the award with all her ten children and stepchildren.

This has received strong opposition from NBC sportscaster Bob Costas, who noted that the former Kardashian patriarch is not deserving of such recognition. Costas said the move is a "crass exploitation play" by the network and noted that an athlete still involved in sports should get the award.

"In the broad world of sports, I'm pretty sure [ESPN] could have found - and this is not anything against Caitlyn Jenner - I'm pretty sure they could have found someone who was much closer to actively involved in sports, who would have been deserving of what that award represents. I think this is a play to pump up audience the way lots of things are put on television, to attract eyeballs, not because of the validity, but because of whatever the kind of gawker factor is," added Costas.

Other awardees at the event are first openly gay football player, Michael Sam, and breast cancer survivor sportscaster, Robin Roberts.

Meanwhile, the two cities in Texas and one in Tennessee which have streets named after Jenner are still undecided if they should have the street names changed now that Jenner has transitioned into Caitlyn.

NBC News has learned residents are still undecided on the idea, with one resident sharing her concern on the issue.

"Thank you for not pursuing it. Bruce was the Olympian, not Caitlyn. What a headache it would be if we all had to change our addresses," said resident Alicia Bribiesca Lemon.
