The "Red Dead Redemption" sequel is believed to be released this October with game developer Rockstar rumored to be working on the launch of the upcoming installment.

According to Cross Map, "Red Dead Redemption 2" which could bear the title "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West" may have a gang mode available for players to use.

"Red Dead Redemption" is an open-world western action role-playing game set at the decline of the American Frontier (1911), which follows the story of John Marston, a former outlaw, whose family was taken hostage by the government in exchange for his services as a bounty hunter as per Christian Today.

In a statement, Rockstar clarified that they are not rushing to release the game which has become extremely famous among gamers.

"It's wonderful to see so much excitement and enthusiasm for the 'Red Dead' series, and nearly 5 years after Red Dead Redemption's release. As we've mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as 'Red Dead Redemption,' 'Bully' and 'L.A. Noire,' we don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually," the statement further read.

Based from Rockstar's announcement, Cross Map said the public may not see the game's release this year, however, an October release is still possible, if all things will go smoothly for company.

Rockstar CEO Strauss Zelnick assured gamers in 2014 that the company is considering "Red Dead" as a permanent franchise. "The risk of just [releasing more games] is that you end up just bulking up your release schedule and that isn't really what consumers want. Consumers want better, not more," Zelnick said, as quoted by GameSpot. "So our selective approach, which we've taken since '07 I think has paid off. Now, we have gotten more by taking that approach; we've launched one new successful franchise every year and I would like to keep doing that particularly because I talk about permanent franchises, but not everything is going to be a permanent franchise. Some of our great franchises eventually will lose their luster and some will hopefully be permanent," he added.

If things will go according to plan, Movie Pilot noted that fans of the game are hoping that changes will be made on the online mode.

"It had some really interesting ideas, but Rockstar haven't had a great track record with online components of their games - even GTA V had a lot of trouble out the gate," the report explained.

An expanded map is also expected by the players as Movie Pilot wrote that it would be more exciting to "see bigger posses, more mini-games to find on the map, and a lot more gang hideouts to uncover and take over."

Players also reportedly want to take gang hideouts to the next level for "Red Redemption 2" as it was an easy way for gamers to earn a lot of XP.

With all these things in mind, fans of the game are surely up for some major changes and developments for the upcoming sequel which will hopefully be released within the year.
