Previously, speculations had it that Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip will pack in the upcoming OnePlus 2. At this point, the device has been officially acknowledged by OnePlus, so we're only left to find out three important things: when it launches, how it works and how much it costs.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei raised the question in a recent tweet, "If the OnePlus 2 comes with the @Snapdragon 810, how much should we charge for it?"

Similarly, CEO Pete Lau posted the same query via Chinese social network Weibo. He later on dropped a figure of 2499.99 Yuan, PhoneDog reported, which sits around $403 as of press time.

It is known for a fact that the new handset will initially sell through an invite-only system.

With all these talks about the upcoming flagship, we've curated the latest of its purported specs and features, to see how they fare against the One. Check them out below.

Release Date

Before we get into details, the Ecumenical News said it is widely expected that the new device launches in Q3 2015, which puts July as our earliest guess.

This information, however, contradicts the Master Herald's previous note, which claims to see the handset's launch exactly next month.

Display

Citing a number of leaks, Pocket-lint noted that the OnePlus 2 is touted to have either a 5.5- or 6-inch display, the resolution of which remains speculated. Accordingly, there are claims of a 1080p screen similar to the One, while a QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution in 2.5D glass has also been said.

The OnePlus One comes in a 5.5-inch display, housing a Full HD resolution in 1920 x 1080 pixels. This amounts to a screen density of 401 ppi.

Processor, RAM, Storage & Battery

Expected to couple Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip in the OnePlus 2 are 3 GB of RAM and a 3,100 mAh battery, the Ecumenical News wrote. A 32 GB storage has been listed by Pocket-lint.

The OnePlus One is packed with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5 GHz quad-core CPUs. This is supported by 3 GB of RAM and a 3,100 mAh battery.

However, in an earlier report, Gizchina cited sources, who claimed the inclusion of 4 GB of RAM and a 3,300mAh battery for the OnePlus 2. These put the device at definite advantage over its predecessor -- in paper -- at least for now.

Camera

In our previous report, the OnePlus 2 is purported to arrive with a 16 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper. The current flagship, on the other hand, owns a 13 MP rear shooter and a 5 MP selfie lens.

Operating System

The OnePlus 2 is expected to pack the company's original Oxygen OS, reportedly based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The software will nevertheless remain to support alternative ROMs, iDigitalTimes quoted Pei as saying.

The OnePlus One runs Cyanogen 11S, based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Other Features

This may not be of best interest, but the OnePlus 2 is allegedly not including a microSD card slot, removable battery or wireless charging, iDigitalTimes said. However, it's said to support band 20 LTE, a fingerprint sensor and laser auto-focus.
