If the latest leaked specs and rumors are true, expect that this year's Moto X 3rd Generation will be a lot better than its predecessor.

Speculated to be released in September this year, the Moto X 2015 3rd Generation will reportedly come with a "seriously high-end hardware," as per Techno Buffalo.

The same report claimed that the phone will have a 5.2-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, a 16-megapixel camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, a Snapdragon 808 processor, a 3280 mAh battery, 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of storage and a lot more. Aside from these features, the Moto X 2015 3rd Generation is also believed to run on Android 5.1.1.

Slash Gear, added that this year, Motorola would want to take it further especially in terms of features and innovations. The outlet described its Snapdragon 808 processor as a "hexa-core beast", adding that the device will also be the first major brand with a 4 GB RAM.

As for its release date, GottaBeMobile said that the new installment could be released about the same time as the other Moto X in the past. It noted that the original Moto X was released in August 2013 then the 2nd Gen was released more than a year later.

"We're unsure if Motorola is aiming for an August announcement and release like the original, or will wait a little longer like they did last year and deliver a new smartphone later in the year," GottaBeMobile wrote.

The phone, according to GottaBeMobile, is expected to go head to head with phones with almost the same specifications like the Galaxy S6, HTC One and LG G4 which have already been unveiled.

Looking back two years ago, the Moto X became a popular phone because it was affordable and had lots of customization like real wood backs. "It ran nearly stock Android, and brought Motorola back into the limelight after years being behind Samsung and HTC," GottaBeMobile recalled.

The 2nd Gen which was launched last year reportedly had no drastic changes aside from the bigger display which had up to 1080 HD, an aluminum ring for additional protection and the introduction of genuine leather back options.

Considering these past models, GottaBeMobile said the upcoming release is expected to be a lot better. By better, it could mean that it will be packed with features which can compete with the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone. As for the price, it is estimated to cost lower than $499, just like last year.
