With the expected release of "Pro Evolution Soccer 2016" (PES 2016) by the end of the year, many are fearing that this will the last in the series of the Konami franchise.

The Japanese game developer is currently experiencing a hard time in handling the reported firing of veteran developer Hideo Kojima, Tech News Today claimed.

As a result, Konami reportedly cancelled "Silent Hill," disappointing most of the fans.

Tech News Today also noted that with the issues faced by the company, players are already questioning if it can still meet their expectations in their upcoming releases.

"There are huge doubts concerning the fate of games like Metal Gear Solid 5; the flagship product of the company. Furthermore, there are questions being raised regarding the future of the company," added the same report.

"Metal Gear Solid V" is reportedly the last Metal Gear game from Kojima but this also leads to the question if "PES 2016" will also be the last in the series.

"It's hard to see Konami ever come out with a PES game in the future. Its good news for EA, but bad news for fans who will have an industry dominated solely by EA, a company renowned to loot customers," added Tech News Today.

If this is true, many fans of the game will really be disappointed and they would expect a lot from the upcoming "PES 2016" release.

The game is anticipated to have some improvements in terms of passing and shooting as Total Sportek said that it will do away with the "5 bar passing option" and convert it to either assisted, semi-assisted or manual.

"PES 2016 can also introduce passing into space (for yourself to sprint to the ball afterwards) just like Gareth Bale has done on many occasions," wrote Total Sportek.

Many users have been complaining about some glitches in the game with one user posting on the PES 2016 official website forum that the current penalty system of the game is disappointing.

"I just look for the simple and challenging. Not too complicate[d] and too problem[atic]," the user said.

Tech News Today said the PES franchise is still far from the achievements of the FIFA game franchise and it may remain like this for a long time because of the concerns in terms of ineffective online services and lack of licensing.

It added that the last installment provided good competition to its EA Sports counterpart but was not able to give more success to the company. This may be enough to reconsider if they will release more installments of the game in the coming years.
