This East Highland Park estate was originally listed on the market back in May of 2011. Thereafter, it has modified its listing price nine times, five just in the last 12 months, and was on and off the selling block more than a couple of times.

One thing it has failed to accomplish, though, in its four-year stint on the Illinois market, is to acquire new ownership.

And, it could very well be an affront to a house included on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and one of Frank Lloyd Wright's original. The 3,013 square-foot house can be had at a land value of $799 thousand as per its Redfin listing; a price tag that one can say, only adds insult to injury.

The 1906 home was designed by one of America's esteemed architect throughout the history. Frank Lloyd Wright made a good account of himself in the field with his design and style, collectively known as the Prairie School of Architecture. Even before he became a bona fide architect, he started making a good impression back in the late 1800's and on to the early parts of the subsequent century with his notable works in Chicago's Oak Park area at that time.

The lake Avenue property sits on a 0.66 acre of landscaped lot tucked away by surrounding trees which makes for a secluded and private appeal. It has four beds and 3.5 baths, according to the listing.

The more-than-a-century-old home's design is highlighted by its 68 original art glass windows. Other details include hardwood floors, a couple of fireplaces, an office, heating and cooling features, a laundry room, a basement, and a foyer.

Wright's trademark Prairie lines was also manifested on the exterior of the structure. One theory provided by Curbed why it has failed to attract a buyer is because of the fact that the home might need some revamping works which could potentially cost a lot of money.

This detached single-family home has an open-air balcony on the upper level and an enclosed porch downstairs where one can catch the lake breeze. The home also has parking area for two cars.

Educational institutions near the home include Indian Trail Elementary School (K to 5), Elm Place School (6 to 8), and Highland Park High School (9 to 12), the listing notes. Some of the more notable landmarks around the area include Larry Fink Memorial Park, Woodridge Park and Olson Park.

The listing agent for the property is Julie Deutsch of Coldwell Banker Residential.
