James Cameron is adamant about adding another couple of movies from 2009's "Avatar" and it seems that audiences are responding well to the idea of a sequel.

According to the International Business Times, the director is planning a year-long promotion for the franchise, beginning with an interactive exhibition around the world by fall of 2016. The announcement further read, "A unique look at the complexity of indigenous peoples and cultures through the lens of the Na'vi, Pandora's native inhabitants, will be a key component of the exhibition."

It also promised an "Immersive, interactive" division, according to the news site.

As noted on Variety, Cameron spoke about the film, saying, "In the second and third films, which will be self-contained stories that also fulfill a greater story arc, we will not back off the throttle of 'Avatar's' visual and emotional horsepower, and will continue to explore its themes and characters, which touched the hearts of audiences in all cultures around the world. I'm looking forward to returning to Pandora, a world where our imaginations can run wild."

Venture Capital Post said that the second film will explore the oceans of Pandora ---- the habitable moon where most of the first film took part.

Most of the original cast, including Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Giovanni Ribisi could return in the sequel. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cameron said, "Basically, if you survived the first film, you get to be in the second film, at least in some form."

According to Deadline, Stephen Lang will be reprising his role as Colonel Miles Quatrich, whose character will be making a comeback. Cameron revealed, "Steven was so memorable in the first film, we're privileged to have him back. I'm not going to say exactly how we're bringing him back, but it's a science fiction story, after all. His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga. I really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who's also become a good friend."

As Cinema Blend noted, "Avatar" is  a passion project for the director, as James Cameron spent many years developing the script and technolgy needed for the film. He spoke of higher frame rates and performace capture underwater, among other things.

The International Business Times also noted that Disney's Animal Kingdom is already planning to recreate the world of Pandoreans, with Disney noting, "We're having a lot of fun dreaming up ways to bring to life the land's iconic elements from the magnificent floating mountains to the interactive bioluminescent forest, and even to the soaring banshees."

What do you think will happen for the next Avatar film? Do you think it will be as much of a success as the original?
