Venezuelan actor Fernando Carrillo has been sentenced to 40 days of house arrest and community service in Miami, Florida, for alleged sexual assault of a hotel employee, according to reports.

Citing the complaint, a report from EFE published on Fox News Latino stated that "the actor had forced hotel employee Beline Castor -- who works as a security guard -- to give him a kiss on the mouth, although the actor denied that version and said that it was only a kiss on the cheek."

Latin Times added that according to the police report, Carrillo approached Castor who was working behind a counter, "grabbed her head with his two hands and kissed her on the lips." Apparently, Carrillo particularly liked Castor's derriere that's why he made the move. The report added that when police authorities responded to the scene, Carillo "didn't see what the big deal was, since that's how people interact in Venezuela."

It was only when the case went to court when the "Rosalinda" star denied kissing Castor on the lips, and instead claimed that it was only a peck on her cheek, the news outlet noted. The judge found him guilty but Latin Times said Carrillo's camp is planning to file an appeal.

According to Fox News Latino, the actor, who starred in telenovelas such as "Abigail," "Maria Isabel y Siempre Te Amare," and "La dama de rosa," already has multiple records with the Miami police. In 1999, he was arrested in the city for drug possession and speeding. After spending several hours in the Miami-Dade county jail, Carrillo was reportedly forced to pay a $1,000 fine.

Back in 1999, he said, as quoted by the Orlando Sentinel, "I don't think this will jeopardize my career, because I'm innocent. We all make mistakes. This has been a hold on my career for two days. I want to get it over with."

Carrillo jumpstarted his acting career through the 1986 program "La dama de rosa," the news outlet reported. Since then, he starred in various soap operas and films and gained international recognition. Some of his movies are "Spin," "Pit Fighter," and "El Caracazo," according to his official site.

In the last decade, the actor chose to take a break from his acting career to focus on his business ventures. Fox News Latino reported that Carrillo is a shareholder in a network of six hotels in Mexico, three of them located in the resort district Riviera Maya.
