Mumford & Sons cancels shows due to bassist's health.

The Grammy Award-winning band has been creating headlines the past days after it revealed that band bassist, Ted Dwane, had to receive emergency treatment for a brain blood clot.

The English folk rock band wrote on their website yesterday, June 11, that Ted has not been feeling well the past days.

"Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days," posted the band. "Yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation."

In the blog post address to their fans, the 2013 BRIT Awards Best British Group-winner noted that their bassist is currently receiving medical car and is already on his way to recovery.

"Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery," the blog read.

Because of this unforeseen circumstance, the band is forced to cancel a number of their shows scheduled for this week.

"Sadly we have to postpone three upcoming headline shows planned for this week."

These shows include last night's Dallas gig, June 12's (Wednesday) Woodlands show and June 13's (Thursday) New Orleans show. "All dates will be rescheduled and will be announced as soon as we can," added the band.

Fans of Mumford & Sons all showed support for Ted and the band. All were hoping for Dwane's fast recovery.

"Wishing you nothing but the best for your surgery and after! Hopefully your recovery is a quick one and your back to doing what you love in no time," wrote Tiffany.

"My prayers are with Ted, his family and the band.  Ted, may your recovery be speedy.  You are loved by thousands," wrote another fan, Sylia.

As for people who have already purchased tickets for this week's show, all event tickets will be honored on their corresponding reschedule dates.

"We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour," said the band.
