"New Girl" comedienne Zooey Deschanel is definitely not ready to give up her role as Jesse for the fifth season of the series, however, with her pregnancy along the way, the schedule for filming may be just a bit "wonky," as stated on Cinema Blend.

Apparently, the show started production for the fifth season even before Fox network gave the greenlight for a renewal. However, the script was done without any pregnancy angle to accommodate Deschanel's schedule, so it seems that they will just have to stop filming while she's sporting a baby bump. After all, as the site noted, with no baby in the plot, it is better not to hide a pregnancy through goofy angles and questionable wardrobe choices.

According to E! News, the network is trying to shoot scenes for the upcoming season early on so that Deschanel can enjoy motherhood more when her baby comes.

Until then, the rest of the cast can also enjoy their breaks from filming.

Deschanel broke the news of her pregnancy in January, and producer Jacob Pachenek has popped the question since then. The pair started dating in August 2014, after her split with screenwriter Jamie Linden, whom she dated for two years.

Deschanel will be returning as Jess, with Jake Johnson, Max Greenfieldm Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simon reprising their roles as Nick, Schmidt, Winston, and Cece, respectively. Damon Wayans, who played the role of Coach opted not to return, however, according to Cinema Blend, the show wrote off his character in a way that he can return to the series, should he want to do so.

Show creator Liz Meriwether said, "We love Damon and are so lucky to have had him return for the past season-and-a-half. We are working on crafting an exit for him that will leave the door open for many more returns."

There is little else that we know about the fifth season but there are several confirmed guest stars that are sure to pop in, among which is SNL Funnyman Taran Killam. According to TV Line, John Cho, whose show, "Selfie" has been cancelled, will also be making an appearance.

With filming already underway it seems that the fifth season will still be out by fall, although the specific date has not been announced yet. Before then, new episodes of the show can be seen on Fox Tuesdays at 9PM.

But before we get all excited for next season, check out the promo for the next episode:
