When a network puts out a new show, there's a possibility that ratings will not fare well, either because not enough people know how awesome it is, or the network just decides to give it the axe.

Whichever the reason is, NBC's "Constantine" is in hot waters, and until the pitch for the second season goes through, fans will not know whether or not their new favorite is going back to the screens in the fall.

According to the website, Comic Book, the second season had been very questionable considering that the series was not able to secure a back nine order after its 13-episode season run. In most cases, networks will simply cancel these shows but NBC decided to give "Constantine" another chance, so it's giving showrunner Daniel Cerone an opportunity to pitch the second season before it decides to keep or let the series go for good. This pitch was confirmed by Cerone himself via his Twitter page.

But while Cerone will have to worry about his pitch and potential storyline for season 2, here are some reasons why the network should keep the series:

1) It has a small but very loyal following, with fans rallying for the show and hashtagging it with #SaveConstantine. Many even passed a petition to renew the series, with over 24,000 signatures. With such a loyal band of followers, who's to say that the numbers will not improve for the second season?

2) Everyone is eager to finish the story because unfinished storylines are just not great. According to Screen Rant, even star Matt Ryan himself said that he is interested in exploring the "family man" arc from the comics for the second season. Besides, seeing John away from the world of monsters and demons will give his character more depth as an ordinary human with some magic every now and then to keep audience on their toes.

3) Ratings have been steadily rising. Comic Book noted that the ratings have been rising for the most part, so things may look better for season 2. Besides, why not give a good show a second chance? Of course, Cerone will be pitching soon so hopefully NBC will see to it that the show gets another round with an audience, because things can only get better in season 2.

Can you think up of any more reasons for NBC to keep "Constantine" or would it be better for the network to give the stories the boot?
