Parents probably weren't as excited upon listening to Disney's official announcement for the "Frozen 2" movie but their children most certainly cannot can't let all the excitement go ... and neither can the studio.

Rumors for the sequel started last year when Idina Menzel, the voice behind the powerful Queen Elsa, said that production is working on something, however, she retracted the statement, claiming that she had been misunderstood.

Then Disney announced via Twitter last week that the hit animation is not stopping at the short film "Frozen Fever," and fans, both young and young-at-heart celebrated.

There is not much that we know about "Frozen 2" however more details will probably surface as the release date nears, but as noted by Cross Map, here are the things that we do know so far:

1) The main cast confirmed that they will be reprising their roles for the film, including Josh Gad (who played the snowman, Olaf) and Kristen Bell (who played Anna), who both took to Twitter to share their excitement for the sequel.

2) The film will be released in 2018, because despite demands production may not be in a hurry. Disney CEO Robert Iger said, "We're not demanding speed, we're demanding excellence."

3) Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck will still be directing the film, considering that they are behind the big success of the film, and Disney is looking forward to replicating the success that they had on the first film.

4) The sequel is still going to take place in Arendelle. According to Ecumenical News, Disney's Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter said, "We enjoyed making 'Frozen Fever' so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."

There were also several theories that swirled around the film. The International Business Times noted some fan theories suggesting that Queen Elsa will be battling it out with an Evil Ice Queen with whom she shares similar powers.

Another theory indicated that because Anna and Kristoff's love story was in the first film, it's Elsa's time to find love and romance with many hoping that she will be falling for Jack Frost. However with Jack in a Dream Works film (Rise of the Guardians) it's not going to be the same Jack Frost that fans fell in love with in 2012.

What do you think about having a second "Frozen" film?
