New plot details about "Batman v Superman" have been revealed and it seems that Jared Leto's Joker has some part in the film, if only to serve as a connecting plot point.

According to the International Business Times, the presence of Robin is not confirmed, but there are rumors that suggest that references to Batman's sidekick will be made, and in "Suicide Squad" where Leto is set to appear, there will be details on what got the villain locked up, mostly that he's killed one of Batman's sidekicks. This could also explain the absence of Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming "Batman v Superman" film.

However, as far as the film goes, iDigital Times reported that it could also be disappointing, as pointed out by "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman. He noted that DC has some very tough shoes to fill, considering that Marvel has established their superhero franchise years ago.

In the South by Southwest Conference, Entertainment Weekly noted that the comic book creator revealed, "I'm going to get in trouble here ... Anyone would be foolish to think that Marvel hasn't done something extremely special. I think of Iron Man ending with with a surprise cameo from Samuel L. Jackson [mentioning] The Avengers - you were like, 'What?! How did that happen?!' People forget that was a surprise. Everything that came out of that was very organic and very exciting."

It's not that DC's film is second-rate, Kirkman cleared that up, however, it won't be as exciting as the wait for "The Avengers" considering that anything DC does to bring together the Justice League will be derivative. He said, "I think [DC] announcing you're going to do a Justice League movie after a Superman movie, that was neat and had some awesome things in it, but it wasn't like amazing or groundbreaking - I shouldn't have said that."

However, he added, "It was an awesome movie, I like it. [The plan] just seems derivative, so it puts them in a backseat position to Marvel."

He also said, "It's not organic so there's going to be so much scrutiny on Batman vs. Superman when it comes out. It's got an uphill battle. If they hadn't told anybody if the Justice League were going to appearing in that, and they were forming that, it would have been surprising and exciting and weird. People are forgetting how important the surprise is. But, you know, Aquaman looks awesome and I'm sure it will be great."

Do you think Kirkman has a point about DC's take on their Justice League franchise, or will it be as big as Marvel's "The Avengers" have been?
