After signing running back Frank Gore into the team, the Indianapolis Colts now added veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson into their offensive line.

Released by the Houston Texans on Monday, the 33-year-old Johnson will have Colts as his second team for his entire career in the NFL.

Citing a tweet from ESPN's Josina Anderson, Yahoo Sports said Johnson has agreed to a three-year, $21 million deal with the Colts. "I felt like this was the best place where I can win a championship and help win a championship. That's what it's all about. That's why we play the game," Johnson said, as quoted by ESPN.

Asked about his changed roles on the team, Johnson said he knew it was coming.

"I knew it for a while. Knew it even before the season started," he added.

ESPN noted that he was supposed to have two years more remaining in his contract with the Texans and a $16.1 million salary cap for 2015.

"It bothered me a little bit because you have people who tell you they want you be a Texan for life and at the end of year, they let you go," Johnson added.

A Bleacher Report article said Johnson is considered to be "the highest-graded" wide receiver of the PFF era since 2007 since he has become a very productive part of the Texans.

Some reports, however, said that his production dropped last year because of the emergence of DeAndre Hopkins. According to ESPN, Hopkins made his first 1,000-yard NFL season with Johnson only catching only 85 passes for 936 yards.

"In each of the previous two seasons, Johnson had caught more than 1 00 passes, for 1,407 and 1,598 yards," ESPN added.

This may have also affected Johnson's decision to stay longer with the team as he saw that he is not as productive as before. But it has been noted that he is the longest staying player in the Texans lineup after he was drafted in 2003. During his stay with the team, he was able to catch 1,012 passes on 1,599 targets for 13,597 yards.

Aside from Johnson, the Colts have also added four other players to the team since free agency started last Tuesday. This included Gore who signed a three-year deal worth 12 million.

The team is certainly hoping that their acquisitions will help the team seal more wins in the next season of the NFL as they will be going against equally talented teams with great roster of players as well.
