Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry sported shoes honoring the memory of one of the fatalities of the recent Chapel Hill shooting, who happened to be one his biggest fans.

Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, was shot dead with his wife Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21 and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, inside their residence in North Carolina last week, Independent reported. The article said that all three have reportedly been shot in the head.

Barakat happened to be a big Curry fan so the Warrior player wrote #CurryFORDEAH and #RIPDEAH on his shoes which he wore during the Shooting Stars event and the 3-point contest, ThinkProgress noted.

"Even though we never met, I think it will hopefully mean a lot to his family and friends that knew what kind of a basketball fan he was to have some kind of peace knowing that people are thinking about him and they're not alone," Curry was quoted by ThinkProgress as saying.

Reports, citing information from Barakat's family, say that he looked up to Curry and that he loved basketball and anything about the Warriors star. ThinkProgress even said that he wore the No. 30 jersey of the basketball player during an intramural game.

Aside from Curry, North Carolina baller Malik-Abdul Abu, who met the victims before and who is also a Muslim, expressed his shock and lamentation over the violent killings. On his Instagram page, he posted a photo of him with Barakat and his wife.

"When I heard the news I was in disbelief I couldn't quite understand how this was possible. couldn't wrap my head around the thought of you and your beautiful wife no longer being alive.

"You supported me before you met me and showed unconditional love when you did. always excited and happy, always willing to joke around about how the season would go... I just wanna say thank you to you your wife and family for the support and making North Carolina feel like home.

"Rest in peace brother and sisters may Allah bless all three of you with the highest heaven. I know you'll always and forever be a NC State supporter. Rest easy my dude," the caption of Abu's photo reads.

Justice is demanded by the public for another bloody attack which claimed the lives of three young individuals. A 46-year-old man identified as Craig Stephen Hicks has been arrested by the authorities for being the prime suspect in the shooting. Independent said that majority of his posts on his social media accounts condemn all religions.

Speculations have surfaced that Hicks killed the victims over a parking dispute but many Muslims consider the incident a hate crime which should immediately be solved.
