At this point, Apple's latest operating system, the iOS 8, has gone through the ups and downs of its existence. But improvement is a door that never closes -- and now we're looking at the promise of a better system that is the iOS 8.2.

Citing information from BGR, 9to5Mac reported that the iOS 8.2 is slated to arrive in March. In particular, the software is believed to launch in the second week of the month, most likely as an Apple Watch compatibility feature.

In case you haven't heard, the Apple Watch is long given a release window of "early 2015." How "early" it is has never been confirmed by Apple, but there are enough clues for the tech industry to crop speculations out.

As told by TechRadar, the Apple Watch is expected to come in April. If the reports hold truth, the iOS 8.2 is put ahead of the wearable; the iPhones and iPads could run the update first.

Just recently, developer Steven Troughton-Smith helped the Apple Insider dive into the fifth iOS 8.2 beta, where a slew of interesting things from the Apple Watch companion application were found.

According to the report, there are four parent menus in the beta build, which included contacts, health, messages and calendar. The presence of a fifth menu called "More" is also noted.

The first iOS 8.2 beta is seeded around the time the iOS 8.1.2 rolled out, Gotta Be Mobile wrote. The source also took note of a rumor from iGen, which claimed that Apple plans to hold an event on Feb. 24 -- few days before the much-awaited spectacle of the Mobile World Congress.

Gotta Be Mobile is convinced that the event could take the wraps off of the Apple Watch, a new MacBook Air and the iOS 8.2.

Meanwhile, Apple has provided a list of known issues harbored by the iOS 8.2 beta 5. For one, as told in its release notes, app extensions need an arm64 slice to run on 64-bit devices. On a similar device, the armv7 slice is said to be non-functional.

For developers trying out the beta, here are other pertinent information cited:

1. After rotating the document picker to landscape, the status bar is hidden (Document Provider).

2. Some information encoded using moles in previous releases may not be be decoded correctly (HealthKit).

3. Mail handoff and AirDrop may stop working after changing your iCloud password here. Fix: On the same device, sign out and back into the iCloud service.

Under WatchKit, there had also been a number of issues, but Apple has nevertheless provided workarounds.
