Christina Aguilera has been confirmed to perform in the opening of the 64th NBA All-Star Game, Fox News Latino reported.

According to the news outlet, the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter will sing a New York-themed medley during player introductions and will be joined by The Rockettes. The game's live telecast will air at 8 PM ET on TNT and will be held at Madison Square Garden in NYC on Sunday, February 15, NBA.com added.

Aguilera expressed her excitement over the big event. She tweeted, "Ready to rock New York! Cannot wait to perform at the #NBAAllStarNYC game Feb 15th! @NBA."

The 34-year-old pop songstress is famous for her chart-topping hits such as "Reflection," "Fighter," "Genie in a Bottle," "Aint No Other Man," "Beautiful," and "Say Something," to name a few. She sold 30 million copies of her album worldwide and starred alongside Cher in a film titled "Burlesque," NBA.com reported. Aguilera is also confirmed to return as one of the judges on "The Voice" after a two-season break.

Just recently, the pop diva was reported to have been working on a new album while on leave after giving birth to her daughter, Summer Rain. Daily Mail reported that the singer's eighth album is rumored to be called "Blonde." A leaked track list of the album appeared on the Internet a few weeks ago, which showed collaborations with other artists such as Iggy Azalea, Pharrell Williams, and Rihanna. Aside from Aguilera, another artist set to perform in the event is Ariana Grande. According to Hollywood Life, the 21-year-old singer will serve as the headlining act during half-time at the NBA All-Star Game.

Grande's fast rise to stardom in the music industry was accompanied by her widely popular tracks, including "Problem," "Love Me Harder," and "Break Free." She is nominated for best pop duo/group performance in the Grammy Awards for "Bang Bang" (with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj), as well as best pop vocal album for "My Everything," Billboard noted.

Hollywood Life added that "Am I Wrong" singers Nico & Vinz will also perform in the official practice session at Madison Square Garden. News about the other NBA All-Star performers and artists slated to perform in the annual event are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, according to Billboard.

Last year's NBA All-Star Game featured musical artists such as Pharrell, Janelle Monae, Kendrick Lamar, Trombone Shorty, Earth Wind & Fire, Gary Clark Jr., and Dr. John, Billboard recalled.
