If you want to shed that extra weight you've put on over the holidays by physical activity, Nike will offer a good-looking, tech-laden pair beginning Jan. 31 to help you achieve that goal — Metcon 1.

The shoes, shown by Nike.com in the Dark Grey/Volt-Black-White theme, will be available in four colors beginning 10 a.m. EST (7 a.m. PST) for $120 on the website.

Sizes are 6-13, 14, 15; code is 704688-007. Other colorways are expected to follow.

"Start faster, finish stronger," the piece said, boasting that the features put into the pair are there not for aesthetic purposes only, but also for maximum response to various demands of cross-training, and even running.

Nike Blog explained that the model is made while keeping in mind a buyer who enjoy lifting, jumping, climbing and running — every facet of high-powered workouts, Nike.com added.

Metcon stands for "metallic conditioning," per Rogue Fitness (it will sell the product), and the designs revolve around that concept.

"The no-sew upper is predicated on lightweight stability and natural motion," it said, with a Hyperfuse technology ensuring that the skin is durable and breathable but virtually weightless — one of three-pronged features mentioned by the Nike.com piece as its selling points.

Feature No. 2 is the intelligent design of the grooves on the outsole, which was mindful of the natural movements of the feet and also of the traction it takes to truly bolt at full potential. The minimal heel-toe drop of 4 millimeters, for maximum comfort, is the last feature.

According to Nike Blog, the foot will also be cradled by the Flywire feature. The outsole also crawls upward in the middle for rope training.

Rogue Fitness adds the rubber padding right at the midsole which reduces friction, also listing the shoes' weight at 11.2 oz.

If you are one that is easily put off by the hard work, the "Just Do It" motto is printed at the foot to give extra encouragement, rendered in white to contrast to the black lining.

"Nike has an astute understanding of the rigors of training," The Boombox noted, commenting that the shoe brand invested all that software in this new interpretation of an ideal cross trainer.

"The Metcon 1 flexibility and stability with all of the support and comfort you'd need during a daily workout. To top it all off, it's decent looking shoe with solid geometric colorblocking as well — that neon tops it off," it said.

Weartesters noted: "Overall the Metcon 1 is a straight performance model that looks to be on the feet of athletes during their workouts"

"It's the small details that help set the Nike Metcon 1 apart," said Rogue Fitness.

"I'm glad these shoes will work for Bench Pressing.. hahaha... I've been looking for the perfect bench press shoes :)" said The Boombox.

"Will this change the way you workout?" Nike Blog asks.
