A film with Brad Pitt is enough to make females swoon. Add Ryan Gosling, and fans would be in a frenzy. But what happens when Brad, Ryan, and Christian Bale all come together for a project?

A lot of people would love that.

In a report by Businessweek, all three actors are appearing in the film version of "The Big Short," which is based on Michael Lewis' book about investors who made their fortune in mortgage crisis, which makes it similar in theme to Leonardo di Caprio's 2013 film, "The Wolf of Wall Street."

The book about a group of investors who bet against residential subprime mortgage market was published in 2010, and was in the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list for 28 weeks.

According to Variety, Brad will be producing the film with DeDe Gardner through his company, the Plan B banner. The magazine also noted that Brad's Plan B company has built its own reputation for dramas that tackle important issues, citing "12 Years a Slave" as last year's Best Picture in the Oscars, and "Selma" getting nods for the race this year.

However, the casting has not been confirmed yet, as Katie Martin Kelley, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles based Paramount, declined to comment, while Bale and Gosling's reps did not say anything on the matter, either.

Pitt is already familiar with Lewis' works. "The Big Short" is the second one of Lewis' big screen adaptations, in 2012, he earned an Oscar nod for his performance in "Moneyball."

According to Time, Paramount and Plan B began the adaptation of the book way back in 2010, with Adam McKay signed on to direct.

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that this may be all hearsay for now, as Bale is not expected to be in it, with a gig as Steve Jobs set by Sony still a probability. Bale is also currently attached to star in Fox's "The Deep Blue Goodbye," making another project almost impossible.

On the other hand, Gosling himself is equally busy, currently shooting with Shane Black in Warner Bros.' "The Nice Guys."

Having Pitt, Gosling, and Bale in one film sounds too good to be true, but there is still hope for this to actually happen: neither of their reps confirmed nor denied the rumors.

Do you think it's possible that three of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood would be willing to star in a film together, or is that just too much to ask?
