Hook ups can be weird. They can leave both parties involved, including any innocent bystanders, with an awkward, uncomfortable pit in their stomach.

And that’s exactly how fans of “The Tomorrow People” feel. Stephen and Cara recently sealed the deal while her boyfriend John was out of town, but Cara isn’t too loving the next morning. However, that doesn’t mean that Cara is going to toss Stephen to the curb. In fact, the hook up “ends up being just a small part of the ongoing love triangle between the three of them,” according to Robbie Amell, who plays Stephen on the show.

“[John] starts to figure that something happened. The first time that Stephen and John see each other in Episode 7, John doesn’t know,” Amell adds. “There’s a weird, awkward conversation. And then John does find out. He has a little bit of payback with Stephen at a basketball game. Then they have an old-fashioned fistfight.”

“No matter what way you cut it, I slept with John’s girl. That’s all you need to know. We’re not going to be buddies anytime soon. But by the end of the episode, for the survival of our species, we put our [issues] aside, and we’re going to work together to try to find my dad.”

And things will continue to get weirder for Stephen. According to TVLine, The CW has cast “Queer as Folk” star Robert Gant to play Stephen’s mom’s surprise boyfriend. Stephen gets suspicious of Gant’s character, Peter, worried that he has ulterior motives for dating his mother.

“The Tomorrow People” airs Wednesday nights on The CW.
