Earlier this month, specifications of the alleged Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 have surfaced online. Rumored to succeed the Galaxy Grand 2, the device was earlier tipped by IBT to arrive at the end of December or early January, considering the previous launch dates of the Galaxy Grand line.

NDTV reported that the smartphone was spotted in a TENNA listing, coded Samsung SM-G7200. The outlet cited a November leak having the same model number, but the difference came in terms of display.

Accordingly, the earlier leak packed a 5.5-inch display, while the more recent one had a 5.25-inch HD display. The latter was said to go by a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

If the recent report holds truth, the new Grand 3 is adopting the similar screen of its predecessor. Grand 2 also went by a display of 5.25 inches, having a 1280 x 720 resolution.

What could be the major upgrades, then?

As told by Stuff, the suspected Galaxy Grand 3 packed a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, up to 128 GB of microSD support, 13 MP main camera, 5 MP front snapper and Android 4.4.4 KitKat support.

Photography specs might be major changes. According to galaxys6samsung.com, the 13 MP camera yields a resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels. On top of this expectation, the device was said to be waterproof and dustproof.

In addition, the outlet suggested that Grand 3's camera features may include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face / smile detection, HDR and panorama.

The Galaxy Grand 2 is also powered by a quad-core processor and 1.5 GB of RAM. But its internal storage is only 8 GB, which puts the alleged Grand 3 at an immediate advantage.

Furthermore, Grand 2's camera specs also fell short, since its main camera captured images at 8 MP, while its selfie-tailored front snapper took a resolution of 1.9 MP.

Talking about dimensions, Phone Arena reported that the alleged Grand 3 measures 146 x 74.8 x 7.95 mm. It weighs 140 grams. The source took note of Grand 2's similar specs, which measured 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm. It weighed 163 grams.

This provides us a temporary claim that the new device is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, although the size of its display panel may not have been altered at all.

In terms of price, galaxys6samsung.com predicted that the Grand 3 could retail at $385.
