A hefty fine of $11,050 was slapped on Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch for his crotch-grabbing gesture while he leapt into the end zone during Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

A report from King5 said that the fine was for his "unsportsmanlike conduct" and this report was confirmed by the NFL.

Lynch's 79-yard run during the game was considered to be the longest in his career. King5 said that the running back was able to tackle along the sideline sprinting away from the defenders of the Cardinals.

Upon reaching the goal line, Lynch jumped into the air, faced the other players then grabbed his crotch prior to landing on his back into the end zone. At the time, he was not flagged for this gesture.

According to King5, Lynch also did the same action in a January 2011 playoff game versus the New Orleans Saints when he ended his "BeastQuake" run.

Last season, the NFL slapped a $10,000 fine on New England Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan for doing the same gesture.

But aside from his so-called "unsportsmanlike gesture," Lynch was able to perform well with his team winning against the Cardinals in a 35-6 victory. King5 said that Lynch recorded 10 carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns though he missed the first quarter of the game because of an upset stomach.

Yahoo Sports noted that the Seahawks player is already used to being fined by the league as he had received a $100,000 fine for not cooperating with people from the media after their games which has already become a requirement for all NFL players.

The same report explained that the violation on Lynch's crotch-grabbing action "seems a bit steep", noting that six players of the Giants were fined $72,400 (roughly $12,000 per player) only for their actions during a game against the Rams which ended in a huge brawl among the players of the two teams.

"Grabbing your privates while you score a touchdown is apparently on about the same level as kicking and punching during a fight, in the NFL's eyes," Yahoo Sports added.

With the huge amount fined on his action, Lynch may not be very happy about this turnout and he has yet to release a statement about the incident. His teammates, however, expressed that they have no problem about his celebratory action. Safety Earl Thomas said that Lynch's action is just part of who the player is.

"He is who he is. He's going to hold his (groin). That's what he do," Thomas was quoted by Yahoo Sports as saying.
