Rumors about the sixth-generation iPod touch just won't stop. In fact, a new speculation from Stabley Times suggests that we could be seeing the revamped, compact media player as soon as the holidays are over. Citing Apple's breakage of its conventional release pattern, the outlet is convinced that the next iPod touch meets daylight shortly after the new year, when holiday iPhone 6 sales tone down.

According to Design & Trend, the iPod touch has been viewed as an "iPhone spec parity," due to the fact that the device is almost similar to the Cupertino smartphone flagship -- except for the ability to make calls. Despite the popularity of larger displays, the source predicted that Apple adheres to a smaller screen size (for the 6th generation iPod touch) in order to keep the device's traditionally-cheaper price tag.

On the other hand, Stabley Times believes that Apple can also choose to make an iPod touch similar to the iPhone 6 in terms of size. The source expected the company to rake in big sales with a 4.7-inch iPod touch 6 and a 5.5-inch iPod touch Plus.

Rumors surrounding the iPod touch's possible exit in the market were cited by Crossmap. The iPod's drop in sales performance, the death of the iPod Classic and Apple's objective of unifying less devices are possible reasons for the device's disappearance, says the outlet.

As we have previously reported, the sixth-generation iPod touch (aka iPod touch 6G) is rumored to pack Retina Display, dual-core A5 processor, radio app, larger storage options, Apple Pay and Touch ID fingerprint system. It was also suggested that the device may run an A9 chip.

Crossmap claims that the iPod touch 6G's only advantage is good software, as well as its existence as a good music player.

Apple may not offer the iPod touch 6G in contractual agreements, like it does with its iPhones. Though the device's price remains uncertain at present, it has been expected that it would retail less than the iPhone 6, as we have covered earlier.

Meanwhile, The Christian Post is convinced that Apple has been delaying the next iPod touch out of reluctance in the "growing smartphone market." People may not just find the device necessary at the present time.
