The first half of the fifth season of "The Walking Dead" featured action packed and emotional moments.

Take for example, the midseason finale of the zombie drama. In the most recent episode, titled "Coda," Beth (Emily Kinney) died tragically at the hands of Grady Memorial Hospital leader Dawn Lerner (Christine Woods). The second half of Season 5 will see the effects of Beth's tragic demise on the other characters, especially to her sister Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

In a video feature which can be viewed below, the cast and crew of "The Walking Dead" discussed what's in store for fans in the remaining episodes. According to the interview, Cohan revealed that Beth's death will have negative consequences on Maggie.

"We're going to see Maggie in a way we've never seen her," the actress said, as quoted by Digital Spy. "[She's] fighting a dark side she's always resisted."

The midseason finale also saw the other half of the group, led by Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), finally realize that they were being deceived by Eugene (Josh McDermitt). Entertainment Online reports that Abraham's team discovered that their mission to DC was just a lie, leading them to have no direction and no place to go to.

Executive producer and showrunner Scott Gimple said that the upcoming episodes will feature more challenges for the protagonists.

"The back eight has a very interesting structure," Gimple said, as reported by Entertainment Online. "There are some very emotional moments, there are some very crazy moments and there's a huge change for the situation of these characters."

Andrew Lincoln, whose character, Rick Grimes, was shown to be having difficulties holding on to his humanity after all that's happened to him and his group, also weighed in on the major changes in the season pickup.

"It feels like we're moving into a new show, it just feels like a new place visually and also story wise," the actor said, as reported by the news outlet. "We'll be OK because this is how we survive."

Gimple also said that the events which transpired in the first half of Season 5 - and in the past seasons, as well - will put Rick to take on a tougher approach when it comes to potential threats to his group. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gimple revealed that Rick will be more aggressive and darker.

"This is all going to push Rick and cement him even further in a much more aggressive, no-nonsense stance toward the world," he said. "He simply isn't going to take any chances anymore. Rick will be darker, but it's all to keep his family safe and his people safe," Gimple explained, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

"The Walking Dead" returns on February 8, according to AMC.
