In a Sunday Night Football game that could help determine home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs travel to the Mile High City to take on division rival the Denver Broncos, who are 8-1 with their high-octane offense.

The Broncos offense has scored 371 points, the most ever through the first nine games of a season, with Denver QB Peyton Manning leading the way throwing 33 touchdowns in nine weeks.

Last week, Manning passed for 330 yards, completing 25-of-36 passes and four touchdowns as they defeated the San Diego Chargers 28-20 to get their first win for interim coach Jack Del Rio, who is subbing for head coach John Fox as he recovers from an aortic heart valve replacement.

"It's a big game," said interim head coach and defensive coordinator Del Rio. "It's a divisional game against the team we're chasing right now."

Manning re-aggravated an ankle injury while defeating the Chargers and sat out several practices during the week but says that his injury will not be a problem for him against Kansas City.

"It's certainly my preference to be out (at practice), but I'm trying to do what's best for the team in order for me to get healthy," said Manning.

The Broncos have to be wary of Kansas City's defense, who has allowed a league-low 111 points, not allowing more than 17 points in any of its first nine contests and leads the league with 36 sacks, with OLBs Justin Houston (11 sacks) and Tamba Hali (9 sacks) helping put intense pressure on opposing quarterbacks during their nine game winning streak.

"We're definitely on high alert in wanting to protect our quarterback," said Del Rio. "We didn't do it as well as we could (against San Diego), and we have an even greater challenge this week in the team that's sacked quarterbacks more than anyone in this league."

The Chiefs, coming off their bye week, defeated the Buffalo Bills in Week 9, with QB Alex Smith completing 19-of-29 for a season-low 124 yards and RB Jamaal Charles - who is fifth in the league in rushing at 725 yard, rumbling for 90 yards on 17 carries. Kansas City needed K Ryan Succop to make three critical field goals against the Bills to defeat Buffalo and stay undefeated.

"We never panic, not even for one second," said Chiefs S Kendrick Lewis. "We always go in knowing that someone on our defense is going to make a play. That's how we believe in each other. No matter who it may be, someone will come up with a play."

You can catch the Kansas City - Denver Sunday Night Football broadcast 8:30 p.m. Sunday night on NBC.

San Francisco 49ers (6-3) vs New Orleans Saints (7-2)

With the Seattle Seahawks sporting the best record in the NFC at 9-1, both the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints are scrambling not only to keep pace with Seattle but for a bye in the first week of the playoffs, giving their Week 11 match-up a sense of urgency. The Saint are coming off a Sunday night dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys, defeating them 49-17, with Saints QB Drew Brees going 34-for-41, completing 19 consecutive pass at one point, throwing for 392 yards and helping keep the Saints a game ahead of NFC South division second place team, the Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers, only a game behind the Saints in the NFC South division, dealt the 49ers a huge blow last week, with the Carolina defense holding the 49ers to 2-for-13 on third down conversions and sacking San Francisco QB Colin Kaepernick six times. Kaepernick went 11-for-22 with one interception and has struggled for the most part throughout the season, throwing for nine touchdowns to six interceptions in nine weeks, with a 83.0 in nine games.
