While it is true that Android has released its latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, older Nexus devices may not have a taste of the sweetest treat yet. BGR cited the assumption of Android Police's Artem Russakovskii, who reportedly wrote on Google+, "Hey guys, I just got word from one of our tipsters that the first OTAs [Over-The-Air updates] got delayed due to some outstanding bugs, now currently scheduled for the 12th."

Android made it known that the Lollipop update has started to roll-out, although it is unclear which device gets it first. As we have previously covered, Android 5.0 Lollipop ships with HTC' Nexus 9 and Motorola's Nexus 6; it comes as an update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Google Play Edition devices and Nvidia's Shield Tablet.

Meanwhile, in a report by NDTV, Nexus 5 owners running the Android 5.0 Lollipop Developer Preview claim that a certain bug drains their battery while on Wi-Fi. The incident has been reported multiple times on the Android Developer Preview site.

It appears that the bug has been preventing the OTA Lollipop updates. Russakovskii said in another post that the issue was "a good reason."

Apparently, the Android Police founder took notice of Onel Benjamin's post, which revealed that Android is aware of the issue. The statement reads, "Android Engineering is aware of an issue affecting Nexus 5 users running Android 5.0 which causes significant 'Miscellaneous' battery usage while Wi-Fi is enabled. This appears to be caused by an abnormally high number of IRQ wakeup events."

Soon enough, Forbes reported that Android Senior Developer Trevor Johns announced that the issue has been resolved. However, it is unconfirmed whether or not the bug affects other Nexus models as well -- because if they are, Nexus 5 could be the first device to get the official update.

Prospects eyeing the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 may not have any trouble. According to Android Authority, Nexus 6 has been ready for preorders via Motorola on Nov. 6. The device will come in 32 GB and 64 GB models. Available colors include Midnight Blue and Cloud White. However, the device seems to be out-of-stock at present. Check the official site here.

On the other hand, Know Your Mobile reported that Nexus 9 is served at Google Play Store. The device comes in 16 GB and 32 GB versions. It is powered by Tegra K1 chip and owns 2 GB of RAM, 8 MP rear camera and 1.6 MP front snapper.

Perhaps, we still have to wait until Nov. 12 for the update -- or learn how to check for one here.
